Inpex awards FES International for good HSE performance
FES International, a recognised leader in fluid transfer solutions, has achieved Tier 2 accreditation as part of a ‘Health, Safety and Environment’ (HSE) scheme launched by worldwide oil and gas exploration and production company, Inpex.
Members of the Australian HSE team visited FES International’s headquarters in Ashington, Northumberland (UK), last month to present the award which recognises excellence in health and safety performance in relation to the Ichthys project. As part of the project, FES supplied a series of Diverless Bend Stiffener Connectors (DBSCs) for the FPSO vessel working off the coast of Western Australia.
FES was praised for achieving zero hours lost due to injury, based on HSE metrics submitted to McDermott, an engineering, procurement, construction and installation company contracted by Inpex.
As part of the process, FES was subjected to a series of HSE audits and inspections conducted by Inpex and McDermott. FES also supplied additional supporting evidence to illustrate the company’s own HSE initiatives and best practices. Material included internal audit and inspection reports, meeting notes and photography.
Managing Director of FES International, Rob Anderson, said: “Safety has to be our highest priority and it is great to have our efforts and strong performance recognised and rewarded through the Inpex scheme.
“We have a safety record to be proud of and strive to reduce any potential risks and improve and maintain a total safety culture.”
Inpex established the HSE awards to recognise significant and sustained contributions to improving the HSE performance on the prestigious Ichthys gas project and the awards were open to all contractors and subcontractors engaged in the project.
