Palm House volunteer scheme invites public to an exclusive outing

Following the success of its inaugural daytrip, the volunteer scheme at Sefton Park Palm House is set to launch another ‘Pop Out Fundraiser’.

On Tuesday, August 19, the volunteer organised excursion will treat floral fanatics to a fun-filled day at the popular Cheshire horticultural attraction, Arley Hall & Gardens – to help raise funds to maintain the Victorian glasshouse.

Guests will be able to enjoy a peaceful roam around the venue, whilst being surrounded by an array of botanic beauties.

Volunteer and Board Member at Sefton Park Palm House, Fran Parkinson said: “As a way of encouraging the public to help support the Palm House, we want to warmly welcome them on an exclusive group daytrip.

“As many of our visitors are gardening and nature enthusiasts, we are certain that the day will be much loved by all who attend. It will also give people the feel-good factor in knowing that they are responsible for supporting our wonderful historical site.”

To begin the day, guests will gather at the Palm House at 9:30am for coffee and conversation, before travelling to the Cheshire attraction via a return coach. Visitors will also take part in a duo of private tours around the gardens and hall.

Fran added: “So far we have had many wonderful outcomes as a direct result of our recently established volunteer scheme. From bench maintenance, to tours of the Palm House, we have set up a variety of new initiatives to help preserve the beautiful crown jewel of Sefton Park.”

The Arley Hall & Gardens daytrip will take place from 9:30am on Tuesday, August 19 and is priced at £27 per person. Included in the cost is: morning coffee, return coach and entry into the attraction.

Only 15 tickets are available, which will be issued on a first come first served basis. To book a place call 0151 726 9304 or email kate.martinez@palmhouse.org.uk
