MediaCityUK digital enterprise hub sees first expanding 'graduate' company

The Landing, the digital enterprise hub at the heart of MediaCityUk, is celebrating its first ‘graduate’ company.

Gov Today, which connects private business with government departments through digital conferencing and events, is almost doubling its floor-space as it moves from The Landing to 4,500 sq ft in The White Tower in MediaCityUK.

Gov Today has experienced significant growth since it moved into The Landing in November 2012 with 32 staff. It now employs a workforce of 52.

Thanks to The Landing, Gov Today accessed European Regional Development Funding when it took occupancy and, because of its significant growth, had reached its support ceiling under this ERDF scheme.

Several other successful growing companies at The Landing are expected to reach a similar point soon and will be similarly supported in their transition.

The Landing launched in Nov 2012, and gives digital SMEs and micro-businesses a place to work alongside large media and technology organisations, allowing them to be part of and benefit from the rapidly growing community at MediaCityUK.

Jon Corner, chief executive of The Landing, says: “When a business like Gov Today leaves The Landing for bigger premises, they are a prime example of how support within a digital cluster can help grow a company.

“It’s great to see Gov Today moving on, and shows what can be achieved by creating the best conditions possible for helping smaller companies grow.”

Gov Today chairman David Wade Smith said: “The creative and digital cluster within The Landing proved to be a tremendous springboard for the business. Since arriving at MediaCity UK our expansion has been rapid and our business has flourished.

“The move to the White Tower will enable this expansion and significantly increase our profile within MediaCityUK.”
