Take to two wheels this Cycle to Work Day

Lockwood-based Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce is encouraging local business people to take to two wheels on 4th September for national Cycle to Work day.

Cycle to Work Day is a national event, championed by multi gold medal winning Paralympic cyclist, Dame Sarah Storey. According to census data a whopping 760,000 people in the UK cycle to work regularly and this number keeps growing steadily. Last years event saw a herculean effort from the 20,000 commuters who hit the streets and cycled over a quarter of a million miles on Cycle to Work day.

And following the grandest Grand Depart that cycled through the Mid Yorkshire Chamber area this July, an even bigger effort is expected. The Chamber is asking locals to get on the saddle on September 4th and pledge miles for Cycle to Work day by tweeting pictures @MidYorksChamber #CycleToWorkDay.

Cycle to Work day also falls on the Chamber’s popular breakfast event, Connections Count. The Chamber is asking as many attendees as possible to cycle to Connections Count at Cedar Court Hotel, Wakefield; there’ll be coffee and croissants waiting!
