Apprentices move into new roles with North East Estate agency
The North East’s largest estate agency is helping a group of Tyneside apprentices as they take their first steps onto the career ladder.
Pattinson Estate Agents has welcomed four new apprentices from Gateshead College to its team as they move in to their new roles within the property industry.
As part of Pattinson’s established apprenticeship scheme Danielle Altman, 17, has joined its accounts team while James Rowat, 17, joins its commercial team. Both Abigail Thompson, 17, and Katie Buglass, 17, have joined the firm’s Tyne Bridge regional office.
Committed to investing in and developing emerging local talent, Pattinson has welcomed a number of apprentices to the company over the past few years, many of which have remained as permanent members of the Pattinson team, including 22-year-old Georgia McIntosh from Boldon.
Georgia, who joined Pattinson as a sales negotiator in 2010 as part of her apprenticeship with Newcastle College, now heads up a team of four as the Newcastle manager.
She said: “As part of my apprenticeship I spent seven months working at the Pattinson central contact centre before moving to the Newcastle branch where I have worked across both residential sales and lettings, which certainly gave me a solid grounding as I started in the industry.
“Four years ago I would never have thought that I would be leading a team and managing my own branch. Thanks to the Pattinson apprenticeship scheme and the fantastic on-the-job training I have received with the team I have been able to advance quickly to branch partner level.”
Managing director of Pattinson, Caroline Pattinson, added: “Quality apprenticeships are fundamental to offering young people a strong start as they begin their careers. As a company we’re committed to helping to develop the next generation of talent and also to employing local people within the communities in which we work.
“Georgia, who is one of our youngest ever branch partners, is a prime example of exactly how young people can benefit from apprenticeships and how far they can progress in just a few years with the right levels of training and nurturing.
“At Pattinson we pride ourselves on the outstanding experience of our team, with many joining us at a junior level and then working their way up through the ranks. It is great to see our more experienced staff working with members of our apprenticeship scheme as they acquire new skills and increase their knowledge of the industry.
“It is wonderful to be able to welcome Danielle, James, Abigail and Katie to the team. Over the coming year they will gain invaluable on-the-job experience, which I am confident will stand them in excellent stead as they move up the career ladder.”
As the part of its established apprenticeship scheme Pattinson will be recruiting additional apprentices later this year.
