Transmit Client Launches National Young Talent Search

NATIONAL YOUNG TALENT COMPETITION REACHES FINAL STAGE

Thousands of budding young performers and songwriters from all over the country have taken their chance to put their feet on the stardom ladder with a new talent spotting festival, run by the Glasgow-based creative director who helped Jade from Little Mix in her early career.

Talent Fest UK, run by an organisation called Chase the Stage, has its first Grand Final on Sunday 28 September at a day-long performance festival at the Blackpool Winter Gardens. There will be workshops, seminars, fun activities as well as the announcement of the winners by Joey Essex from TOWIE.

Chase the Stage has been supported in its business development by Transmit Start-Ups, which specialises in loans for creative entrepreneurs. Its funding has helped to develop the Talent Fest brand and also helped to ensure the regional heats were in the best available venues.

Judy Brunton, creative director of Chase the Stage has a decade of experience in talent spotting. She said: “The Transmit Start-Ups loan has been absolutely essential for us to launch this search for the next generation of star performers and song writers. We have huge interest from all over the country from all types of dancers, singers and actors and can’t wait to see who the top industry professionals will choose as winners at the Final.”

Damian Baetens, director for Transmit Start-Ups in Scotland has worked in the music industry for the majority of his career and said: “Talent Fest UK is the best showcase I have seen for new and emerging performers. Judy and the team at Chase the Stage work really hard to give all of the participants good, positive feedback which will help them get to the next level if the basic talent is there. We will definitely see Talent Fest UK winners go from strength to strength.”

There are fourteen distinct singing, dancing, acting and performance categories in Talent Fest 2014 as well as the Chase the Stage online Global songwriting competition, on-line performance critique, Schoolfest and Talent Fest UK have live Finals Events. The public can vote for three Awards on line at www.chasethestage.com or facebook page ‘Chase the Stage’ but Talent Fest UK winners are decided by judges who include top music industry professionals.Everyone who enters the competition gets personal feedback and the winners receive showreels and a chance to be part of a programme on the Showcase Channel on Sky.

Chase the Stage has support from Patrons including Duncan James from Blue, Jai McDowall, winner of Britain’s Got Talent 2011 and dance judge from Sky 1’s Got to Dance, Adam Garcia.

The inspiration behind Talent Fest came when Judy saw how upset a rejected entrant was after a national talent competition. They had waited 10 hours for a spot and not done their best in the allotted two minutes. She decided young performers should get some support to improve and make the best of their abilities and developed Talent Fest with this aims.
