Family fund for baby Isaac at Hebburn

BARRATT Homes has welcomed the first family to The Maples in Hebburn.

Pawel Malinowski, his wife Dorota and their three-month-old son Isaac, moved into their new home at the development in Monkton Lane.

And there was a special gift for Isaac – £100 to start a savings account.

The money is from the Barratt family fund, which the housebuilder has launched as a means of supporting young families.

Any babies born at the development during the next 12 months will receive the contribution.

“We don’t just build houses, we create communities and young families are really important to delivering that,” said Fenton Hewitt, Sales Director at Barratt North East.

“We hope our gift will help give Isaac a great start in life. We’re delighted to welcome Pawel and Dorota to The Maples and we look forward to building a thriving new community here.”

The couple bought their new home through the Government-backed Help to Buy scheme.

Pawel, who works at Nissan, said: “Using the scheme helped us a lot. We only paid a five per cent deposit and the mortgage payments are lower.

“We’ve bought a four-bedroom house – without it we would not have been able to afford such a large home.

“We looked at lots of other developments but we think these are the best quality homes. The size of the rooms is much bigger and we have a big garden, which is good when you have a child.”

Teaching assistant Dorota said: “We were renting a house in Gateshead, but we needed more space because I was expecting Isaac.

“We love our new home, especially the kitchen where we have doors opening into the garden. We like the shower in the en suite too.

“And we have had brilliant service. Claire the sales adviser sorted out anything we needed.”

Barratt is building two, three and four-bedroom homes at The Maples and has three-bedroom homes currently available priced from £149,995.
