Teesside Digital Entrepreneurs shortlisted in Britain’s biggest business contest
Dynamic young Stockton business JDrew Creations is celebrating its success in reaching the Top 100 of The Pitch 2014, Britain’s biggest business contest. As the only North East-based business to catch the eye of the judges, JDrew Creations is aiming to make an impact for the region in what is one of the UK’s longest running entrepreneurial competitions.
Led by Teesside graduate James Drew and based at Stockton’s prestigious Digital House, the company is the creator of Ambix, the intranet for membership organisations. Designed with the user in mind, Ambix uses an innovative combination of technologies to deliver a simple, intuitive private networking platform which engages people with all levels of digital skills and helps organisations build successful online communities. The system was launched in 2013, and the latest version released this week has already attracted attention from organisations across the UK and overseas.
The Top 100 companies will be whittled down to 30 contestants following this month’s Pitch Bootcamps, with the Final to be held in October. JDrew Creations director Kate Baucherel is confident that the company has the pedigree to stand out from the crowd. “Ambix is a fantastic product to pitch, as it answers so many questions for large organisations who want to interact with their members securely online. We’ve already benefited from pitching help and advice through the NEPIC BASME programme, reaching the final of the Lift Off competition in July, and this experience will stand us in good stead as we face national competition.”
