Carringtons Catering take a daring drop for charity

A fearsome trio from Carringtons Catering have raised almost £500 during a charity abseil.

In order to help gather vital funds for Nugent Care, head chef David Carter, manager Matt Rainford and service staff Sam Dutton, took a leap of faith down the Anglican Cathedral during the annual free-fall abseil.

The brave bunch pushed themselves to the limit and descended an impressive 150ft down the Liverpool landmark during the adrenalin packed plunge.

Director of Carringtons Catering Darren Wynn said: “We are extremely proud of David, Matt and Sam who have raised a great amount of money for Nugent Care. As the vice chair of Nugent Social Enterprises, I feel so passionately about what the charity does for vulnerable members of the community.

“Our fundraising efforts have certainly been much appreciated and we have received the feel-good factor in knowing that our support will lead to better care for children, disabled and marginalised people of all ages across the UK.”

In addition to the charity abseil, Carringtons Catering is also offering continuous support to Nugent Care’s new café enterprise, The Courtyard. The team at Carringtons will work closely with the Knowsley-based coffee shop, which aims to provide healthy food and beverages, as well as delivering education and training to people with disabilities.

Darren added: “We really like to do our bit for charity and be involved as much as we can. Therefore, we hope to encourage other local business to take part in fundraising activities, as they are so beneficial to the given charity.”
