Liverpool Concierge Shortlisted For Top Award

A Liverpool hotel concierge has been shortlisted for a top award.

Les Gilfilan, who is based at The Richmond Hotel Liverpool will fly the flag for Liverpool and the North of England at the awards in October as the only regional representative in the Morris Golden Keys Concierge Awards 2014.

Les is one of six shortlisted nominees in the Regional Concierge of the Year Nominations. His fellow concierges represent hotels in Scotland, the North East and South West.

The annual awards, which are in their 9th year, are co-organised by Morris Visitor Publications and the Society Of The Golden Keys of Great Britain and The Commonwealth. For a concierge, being a member of the Golden Keys community is the ultimate industry standard. Over 350 concierges across Great Britain proudly wear the Gold Keys lapel pin.

Les has been at The Richmond since May 2013, when the Grade II Listed hotel opened on Hatton Garden. A Geordie who now calls Liverpool his home, Les takes his role very seriously indeed. He has been a Golden Keys concierge for 15 years, and now also holds the esteemed post of Chairman of the North Region of The Society of The Golden Keys.

Les commented:

“It really is a huge honour to be shortlisted in the Regional Concierge category. I take a lot of pleasure meeting our guests, and making sure they have exactly what they need so their stay at The Richmond and visit to Liverpool exceeds all their expectations. That’s what motivates me to do a good job and uphold the reputation of the prestigious Golden Keys.”

The Richmond Hotel’s Group Director Steven Hesketh said:

“Les is the true embodiment of a great concierge. He has a gift when it comes to making guests feel welcome and has a natural instinct for their needs and requirements.

“Les works with a constant smile on his face and with a respectful sense of humour. He goes above and beyond the call of duty to offer first class customer care. On behalf of The Richmond team, we wish Les the very best of luck and hope he scoops the title for himself, The Richmond and Liverpool.”

The Morris Golden Keys Concierge Awards 2014 take place on Monday, 13 October, at The Royal Horseguards Hotel in London.
