Two North East firms appear in list of Britain’s fastest growing tech businesses
Two North East businesses have appeared on the 14th annual Sunday Times Hiscox Tech Track 100 league table, listing the fastest growing technology businesses in Britain.
The top-ranked company in the region is Nomad Digital, which appears on the league table for the fourth consecutive year.
The Newcastle firm installs wifi on trains across Europe and has grown sales 54% a year to £32 million in 2013, which ranks it number 66 nationally.
Nomad Digital, which employs 191 people in the region, has witnessed 54% growth over three years in annual sales.
Gateshead data services provider Aspire Technology Group, which employs 51 staff, is a new entrant to the table, appearing in 72nd place.
“It takes a number of qualities to be recognised as a Tech Track 100 business. Having well defined company values, a focus on nurturing talent and achieving customer satisfaction, and an eye on future-proofing your business are all important attributes. Many former Tech Track 100 companies have gone on to become stand-out successes, and this year’s listing is equally exciting. Every single one of these businesses is contributing to the UK economy, and that should give us all confidence that Britain’s tech scene is in rude health”
