‘Finance Expert’ to make an appearance at Manufacturing and Engineering Expo 2014
A new initiative to help manufacturing directors manage expansion and retain their best staff will be held as part of the Manufacturing and Engineering Expo held at the Kent Event Centre on October 8th.
The Manufacturing Advisory Service’s ‘Finance Expert’ programme will form part of an action-packed day aimed at showcasing all that is good about the sector, whilst addressing current and future issues that might be preventing South East firms from reaching their potential.
The interactive workshop will help companies understand the best options for accessing finance, tapping into alternative funding streams and unravelling the tax implications of innovation and expansion.
“We’ve all read about the continuing growth in manufacturing and it’s great this is happening. However, with expansion comes issues and Finance Expert is looking to offer senior management teams some of the answers to these ‘growing pains’,” explained Louise Whipp, National Finance Expert Lead.
“The event is one of the biggest in the South East and a great way to keep engineering and manufacturing in the regional spotlight.”
In addition to an 80-strong exhibition and a series of workshops, there will be high profile keynote speakers, including Kevin Gaskell (the former MD of Porsche and BMW) talking about how to build world class teams and Will Butler Adams of Brompton Bicycles.
The latter is part of a new generation of innovative UK manufacturers, who are market leaders and exclusively source within this country.
Jo James, Chief Executive of Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce, said: “We have a fantastic line up of speakers providing industry insight and advice and want the day to be a showcase of what is good about local industry. It is also about providing visitors and exhibitors with the chance to win new business and take away valuable advice that could be the catalyst for growth.”
