Dan takes on senior SteelPhalt management post
Dan Rogers has been appointed Technical Manager at Rotherham based road surface specialists SteelPhalt.
Dan, who is 28 and lives in Rotherham, has been with SteelPhalt since the age of 19, joining the company after completing his A Level studies at Thomas Rotherham College.
His first role was in the company’s laboratories and he also worked in production and sales before taking up his new management post.
“This is an exciting and challenging time for me,” said Dan. “As Technical Manager I shall not only be managing the company’s laboratory, where I started out, but also working on the development of new products.”
Part of the Harsco group, SteelPhalt - based at The Ickles in Templeborough - specialises in the conversion of steel slag into a surface course for road making.
The exceptional strength and durability of steel slag extends the life of the road and lengthens road maintenance intervals for resurfacing.
It achieves high skid resistance - enhancing road safety for both drivers and pedestrians - and maintains it throughout the whole life of the road, also avoiding the use of quarried materials and the landfill of residual slag product.
The company’s products include SteelStop, SteelSurf, SteelPave and SteelFlow.
