Opticians urge cyclists to ensure they’re cycle ready
A LOCAL Leeds resident is joining the thousands of cyclists saddling up in the wake of the Tour de France, after winning a top-of-the-range mountain bike from a local optician and as a result the Leeds optician is urging locals to ensure they’re sight is ‘cycle ready’.
Mark Richardson, store director of Specsavers at Leeds Albion Street, explains: ‘The arrival of the Tour de France in Yorkshire spurred a lot of people to get back in the saddle. I’m sure all cyclists know the importance of conducting a spot check on their bike before they set off, but I’m not convinced they’d naturally consider the last time they had their hearing or eyes tested. It’s vitally important that cyclists are fully alert, both visually and from an audio point of view, to be able to deal with the dangers that present themselves while cycling.
‘We’re pleased to be able to give one of our customers a brand new mountain bike so that he can join in the cycle fever!’
Staff at Specsavers on Albion Street invited customers to take part in a survey during the months leading up to the Grand Depart in Yorkshire and a winner has now been selected.
