Next generation of gymnasts heading to the Ricoh Arena

The next generation of gymnasts are heading to the Ricoh Arena to wow spectators of the sport.

GymFusion, the British Gymnastics National Festivals Programme, was launched in 2011 to give youngsters the chance to display their acrobatic skills in a fun and friendly festival.

Over 3,000 performers have taken part in the non-competitive show, which brings together performers of all ages, abilities and gymnastic disciplines, across the UK over the last three years.

Tickets are now available for the festival between 2pm-5pm on Saturday, October 18 and from 11am-1pm and 3pm-5pm on Sunday, October 19 in Hall 5.

Liz Hawker, North West and West Midlands Area Manager for British Gymnastics, said “GymFusion is guaranteed to wow the audiences at the Ricoh Arena.

“British Gymnastics has had fantastic feedback from the participants and spectators since GymFusion started. You can’t fail to be impressed by the enthusiasm of everyone taking part and the huge amount of effort they put into their routines.

“There is always a real feel-good factor and we’re excited to be bringing GymFusion to the Ricoh Arena since it allows gymnasts to show their creative side but in an environment which is not competitive so they can really express themselves.

“It gives gymnasts the opportunity to form a team to showcase all the different elements of the sport as well as encourages youngsters to perform all their disciplines in a creative manner.”

Kayleigh Biggs, event manager at the Ricoh Arena, said this was the second event the organisation had brought to the venue following the British Gymnastics Spring Event Series in May.

“Hall 5 is a perfect location for the fun and friendly GymFusion festival and we are looking forward to welcoming one of its events which are taking place across England and Northern Ireland,” she said.

“Throughout the country there have been themes inspired by a whole range of subjects ranging from wizards to fairy tales since it really allows the gymnasts to show their creative side.

“GymFusion will give spectators the chance to experience the sport like never before and it promises to be a dazzling spectacle.”
