Carcraft Group announces that Colin Houlihan will join the Board of Carcraft effective 11th September 2014, as Group Chief Executive Officer.
Alan Greenough, non-executive director said on behalf of the board:
“We are pleased to announce today the appointment of Colin Houlihan, as our Group Chief Executive from 11th September 2014. Having transitioned from a family run business, through a management buy-out the Board believes it is the appropriate time for a proven corporate leader with fresh perspectives, a new profile and the hunger to lead the business to the next level.
Colin Houlihan brings a wealth of consumer experience and expertise in business strategy, change management, brand development and customer value. He has held board level positions in private and public companies, and brings with him over 20 years experience as Chief Executive. Colin has achieved several successful corporate exits.
The Board believes that with Colin’s leadership Carcraft will consolidate and improve its leading position in the retail of used cars to the general public.“
Colin Houlihan joins from Cool Milk Europe (CMEU) having developed and executed a successful strategy for CMEU. His prior position in which he achieved a successful exit was as Chief Executive Officer with the LDC backed St Tropez.
Carcraft was established in 1951. Noel and Darren Mckee acquired the business from their father in 1998 in a £50m buy-out. Management have led the business since 2010 when the Mckee brothers stepped back from day to day management with a Management Buy Out of the Mckee’s in early 2014.
