Housebuilder gets approval for multi-million pound investment in Coventry

A leading regional house builder has welcomed the decision to grant planning permission for a new £13 million residential development in Coventry.

Persimmon Homes South Midlands will build 100 new homes on the unoccupied land following a reserved matters planning approval from Coventry City Council.

The 6.9 acre site, off Holbrook Way in a popular part of Coventry, will feature a collection of two, three and four bedroom properties in a range of designs that meet the needs of individuals and families looking to purchase a brand new home.

Persimmon Homes South Midlands’ managing director, Andy Peters, said: “Our investment in Coventry forms an integral part of our expansion programme to bring further new homes to the region to meet the growing demand.”

The land, formerly occupied by a joinery works, was cleared in 2004 after a fire destroyed the buildings resulting in an end to trading for the business and has subsequently remained vacant.

Construction at the site is scheduled to commence this month with properties being marketed for sale from March 2015.
