The Brink receives prestigious accolade at inaugural ‘Access Employment and Merseyside Outreach Service' awards ceremony

The Brink has been awarded with the ‘Employer Award’ at the Access Employment and Merseyside Outreach Service awards ceremony.

Located on Parr Street, the inspirational social initiative received the admired accolade by Cllr Erica Kemp, as a result of its on-going support towards vulnerable members in the workplace.

Hosted by the North West Community Services, the event aimed to celebrate the outstanding figures in both the disabled and recovery community.

Assistant Manager at The Brink, Jennifer Lawrence said: “We are delighted to have won this wonderful heartfelt award.

“It has been a pleasure working with vulnerable members in society, who against all of the odds put aside their disabilities and limitations to enter the workforce.”

The Brink recently performed a series of ‘mocktail’ making master classes as part of its delivery to provide hospitality skills to disadvantaged people from across the North West. During the demonstrations, participants were able to gain industry experience to maximise their employment eligibility.

Jennifer added: “Our ethos at The Brink is to give back to society and provide equal job opportunities - therefore we strive to do as much as we can in helping vulnerable members of the local community.

“We hope to continue our efforts in providing on-going support and guidance to those wanting to join/re-enter the workplace, whilst diminishing the social stigmas that are attached.”
