The Pudding Parlour launches in Fenwicks
The family ran Pudding Parlour in Hexham, who recently picked up an award for Best Newcomer at the Sunshine Fund Business Awards, are celebrating once again after opening a very popular concession within the prestigious Fenwick Food Hall.
The unique dessert boutique, located on Haugh Lane Industrial Estate in Hexham, is run by brother and sister, Greg and Kristy Giblin. Greg and Kristy, both graduates of Sheffield Hallam University, opened the shop in November last year after demand for their home based business really took off.
Less than 10 months later they have a thriving business selling their delicious puddings to the public in their very busy shop and they also supply a large number of hotels, restaurants, pubs and coffee shops all over the North East.
At the beginning of the summer the duo were invited to attend a Farmers’ Market event hosted by Fenwick within their Food Hall. Fenwick organised the three day event to showcase some of the finest products the region has to offer. Adam Barber, Buyer for Fenwick Food Hall, said: “I met The Pudding Parlour team at our recent Farmers’ Market event.
When I tasted their cakes and puddings and saw the customer reaction to the product we knew they would make a fantastic addition to our Food Hall offering. After a successful trial, The Pudding Parlour at Fenwick is now permanently based in the bakery department in the Food Hall and sales have gone from strength to strength!“
The Pudding Parlour’s unique take on cakes and bakes is becoming widely renowned for innovation and creativity and Fenwick’s new concession is the latest accomplishment in a string of big business developments for the brother and sister duo.
This month the team grows to five members of staff in order to keep up with their ever increasing trade clientele and of course their busy shop in Hexham.
Celebrating their first year of trading in their Hexham premises in just over a month, Kristy and Greg are reflectful on their rapidly expanding first year in business are excited about the next year ahead.
Kristy Giblin and Greg Small are brother and sister and both live in their homes in Stocksfield, Northumberland.
