EcoHydra Technologies Ltd gears up for further growth with MD appointment following investment

EcoHydra Technologies Ltd, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of superior alcohol free hand hygiene formulations, is delighted to announce the appointment of John Appleby to the board as Managing Director.

Appleby is an experienced Healthcare and Consumer Products Executive, both in the UK and internationally, having previously worked with Boots Healthcare International to successfully manage and grow the Global Analgesic, Throat Care and Dermatological categories.

During his time at Boots Healthcare International, Appleby also led and developed the business in the Far East and managed the Middle East, Mediterranean and African Region where he implemented an aggressive growth strategy. More recently, he has developed his own consultancy business, ahca limited, which specialises in consumer healthcare with a particular focus on dermatology and skincare.

EcoHydra Technologies Ltd Chairman Clifton Melvin commented: “Without a doubt, John has the required skill set, drive and leadership to boost EcoHydra’s growth over the next few years.

John is a formidable consumer strategist, whose expertise and international outlook will be incredibly valuable in guiding the team and opening up further opportunities for EcoHydra.“

Having recently raised £500,000 from new equity crowd funding platform Venture Founders, Ecohydra is poised for substantial growth. To aid this process and to further strengthen the board, two new Non-Executive directors (NEDs) have been appointed.

Leslie Barber is a portfolio Non-Executive Director with board level retail experience. Barber has a highly successful executive career under his belt, with international marketing and brand-building experience in organisations such as Unilever and Lornamead. He has already led successful negotiations with both Boots and Amazon on behalf of EcoHydra.

Charles Goodson-Wickes is a Physician, Barrister and former MP with outstanding career achievements at Executive and Board level. The Chairman of Thomas Greg and Sons Ltd, international Security Printers, Goodson-Wickes has previously served on the boards of 2 FTSE 250

Health sector companies – Nestor Healthcare Group plc, and medical devices company Gyrus Group plc.

Welcoming the non executives to the Board Clifton Melvin said. “The addition of Non-Executive directors of the stature of Charles and Leslie will give our Board additional experience and contacts to enable Ecohydra to fully capitalise on the opportunities available to us following our recent successful fundraising exercise.”
