London technology company Ve opens Tokyo office – its 13th office

Ve, the e-commerce conversion company, has today opened a new office in Tokyo, adding to its offices in Shanghai, Singapore and Hong Kong.

Ve has increased its presence in the region due to Asia-Pac’s rapidly growing e-commerce market. Forrester Research recently forecast that Asia-Pac e-retail sales will outstrip North America and Europe combined by 2018.

Ve has also now taken on premises and hired staff in Singapore, a Vietnam office is also opening this autumn and the company has just finished relocating its operations in Australia.

The UK-founded technology company which offers a platform to acquire, engage and convert customers at every stage of the ecommerce journey, announced the move at a reception hosted by the UK’s ambassador to Tokyo, Tim Hitchens, in the British embassy. Founded in 2009, Ve now works across 18 languages, within 43 territories and has 13 offices worldwide. VeJapan are already actively working with Japanese clients and the local team there is overseen by Tomoki Ishiguro, Director of Market Development and Satoshi Kawashima, Director of Sales.

David Brown, Ve co-founder and CEO, said: “According to the latest research, e-retail sales in Asia-Pac will reach three-quarters of a trillion dollars by 2018. This growth presents a huge opportunity for Ve so we are investing heavily in the region to create a domestic infrastructure that can service those markets professionally.

“The six offices we will have opened in Asia-Pac are just the start. We are also targeting other emerging markets in South America and Russia.”

Ve has also made three appointments in Singapore and hired Joe Ruelle, a new territory manager for Vietnam. John Craig formerly of Shopbot.com.au has also been appointed MD of Australia and has spearheaded moving the company’s operation from Sydney to Melbourne.
