Knight Frank wins major Yorkshire property award

The Yorkshire office of global property consultancy Knight Frank was named the Office Agency Team of the Year at this year’s Yorkshire Property Industry Awards.

The awards, held at the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds, were attended by 500 of the region’s leading property professionals.

The judges commented: “The office space across Yorkshire is now starting to really take shape again. Spec builds have returned and restorations are back in the offing – but throughout this Knight Frank has shown an aptitude and commitment which greatly impressed the judges. The numbers were what made a difference and Knight Frank did not disappoint.”

The Office Agency Team of the Year award was sponsored by PEC. Knight Frank was also short-listed in the Industrial Agency category of the awards.

This success follows on from Knight Frank’s triumph in the Yorkshire Property awards, when the consultancy also won the Office Agency Team of the Year award.

Elizabeth Ridler, partner in charge of office agency at Knight Frank in Leeds, commented: “We were delighted to win this prestigious award, and be short-listed in another category, especially as the awards were voted for by an expert committee of property professionals. It has been a challenging year for the property industry in Yorkshire, as elsewhere, as we emerge from the recession, but we have managed to put together some important deals in a difficult market.”

“The commercial property market in Yorkshire is now gathering momentum and the next 12 months will be especially interesting as speculative office development is likely to start again in Leeds, bearing in mind the current shortage of quality Grade A space in the city.
