Newcastle chartered surveyors to expand

Newcastle-based chartered surveyors, Silverstone Building Consultancy, has recently experienced a period of growth and now aims to expand its business by recruiting more staff.

The company are also aiming to increase turnover to £1 million by 2018.

The firm, set up by founding directors Ben Hunter and Richard Farrey, is currently working on construction projects amounting to over £7 million for clients including; Northumberland College, TTE, Pulman Group and Gestamp Tallent Automotive.

To assist in managing their increasing workload they have appointed a new Associated Director and anticipate there will be further job creation to follow.

As part of their planned expansion Silverstone has appointed Louise Stewart as Associate Director, who was formerly an Associate Partner at Sanderson Weatherall and is an APC (Assessment of Professional Competence) assessor for the RICS.

Director at Silverstone, Ben Hunter, said: “We have grown our business conservatively over the past five years, we started out with just two directors working from home, we now have six full time members of staff and offices on Grey Street.

“With a strong client base in the North East and a high level of repeat business we are now looking to build on our success by doubling our turnover and staff numbers over the next five years”.

“Our aim is to remain an independent firm of building surveyors and project managers as this niche has created a unique offering that has attracted clients who wish to use our services without conflicting with other agents.

“However, we are keen to expand our reach into other areas of the UK, we have recently undertaken projects in Birmingham, York and Bolton and expanding our team will mean we have greater capabilities to deliver our services nationally.”
