‘Go Orange’ to support orangutans this October
Leading Chester law firm Aaron & Partners is once again supporting Chester Zoo by fundraising for the zoo’s ‘Go Orange for Orangutans’ campaign this October.
Aaron & Partners is asking firms and individuals to help build a ‘virtual’ tree as tall as the Burj Khalifa, currently the world’s tallest building at just short of 830m. Each 10m stretch of tree costs just £10 to sponsor and as the tree grows a new sapling will be planted for every £10 donated.
Chester Zoo aims to raise £15,000 to plant 1,500 new trees, helping to rebuild the orangutans’ habitat. If Aaron & Partners is successful in building its 830m virtual tree, that will enable 83 saplings to be planted (although the more the merrier!)
Chester Zoo development manager, Melanie Cowieson, said: “It is fantastic to have Aaron & Partners on board for our 2014 Go Orange for Orangutans campaign. They were so helpful to us last year and we were delighted when they offered to get behind us with such enthusiasm again. It is a real boost to our fundraising effort.
“Aaron & Partners is a well respected firm so we have our fingers tightly crossed that as many companies as possible will help them breathe life into their fabulous ‘virtual’ forest.”
Each section of the tree costs just £10 per 10m and will feature the sponsor’s name and logo. The support will be posted on social media as a public thank you for the fundraising.
The Aaron & Partners’ website will show how well the tree is growing and sponsors will be able to see how their donations are helping to replant the rainforest as more and more saplings are added to our virtual forest.
