Deputy Mayor to attend Women’s Business Club launch

The UK’s largest national community for female entrepreneurs, Enterprising Women, is to host a new club for businesswomen in Enfield.

The inaugural event will take place on Friday, 31st October 2014 at Dugdale Centre, Thomas Hardy House, 39 London Road, Enfield.

Guests will include the Deputy Mayor of Enfield – Councillor Patricia Ekechi.

The event, and subsequent meetings, will be hosted by multi awards winning entrepreneur and businesswoman, Sapphire Gray.

Sapphire says, “According to research from the Women’s Business Council, if women had the confidence and support to start businesses at the same rate as men, the UK would be home to an extra million female entrepreneurs.

“That’s where Enterprising Women comes in: providing practical advice and support to help women achieve their potential.

“I’m really looking forward to building a dynamic club for businesswomen across the region, and to helping them address and overcome the unique challenges that they face.”

Head of Enterprising Women Hawa Sydique continues, “Enterprising Women was formed to support existing and prospective businesswomen through training, mentoring and peer group events such as this.

“Through our national Business Clubs we enable members to share their expertise, skills and business development opportunities; to collaborate and build their support network.”

Sapphire continues, “The Enfield club will meet on a monthly basis, bringing together like-minded female entrepreneurs.

“Our emphasis is very much on knowledge sharing – working together to overcome key business challenges, and sharing in each other successes.

“With this in mind, we have already lined up a number of guest speakers for forthcoming meetings, and we also plan to host a series of business skills workshops over the coming months.”

The Deputy Mayor commented, “It is great that Enterprising Women are launching a business club in Enfield.

The club will bring together female entrepreneurs and women in business from across the Borough, allowing them to share their knowledge and expertise with one another, and will also help them to create vital contact networks.“
