Langleys shine in Legal 500

The newly released Legal 500 rankings have consolidated an extended period of growth for York and Lincoln based Langleys Solicitors LLP.

The firm is ranked in a total of 23 practice areas – two more than in last year’s Legal 500 – having achieved rankings in two new areas; Property Litigation and Transport.

A total of 22 lawyers across Langleys’ two offices are singled out for recommendation, and a further four practice areas – Dispute Resolution, Commercial Property, Family and Private Client – have improved their rankings on last year. The firm has also retained its top-tier ranking in Agriculture.

This year’s Legal 500 rounds off a consistent period of growth for Langleys, which recorded revenues of more than £20 million to the year-end April 2014: reflecting growth of over 7%.

The firm has also increased the number of its employees in the last year – up 2.4% on 2012-2013. Close to 400 people are employed at its offices in York and Lincoln, and the firm is currently investing in the refurbishment of its York base – Queens House in Micklegate.

Regional and national clients include Severfield plc, First Group, Newcastle City Council, Indesit, Brit Global Speciality and UPS.

David Thompson, Managing Partner at Langleys, said: “We are proud that these rankings reflect our growth over the last 12 months, particularly in tough market conditions and amid the ongoing diversification of the UK legal sector.

“They demonstrate the strength and breadth of expertise we have across a considerable range of practice areas, and I’m immensely proud of our team in both York and Lincoln.”
