North East job seekers get a chance to SHINE

An innovative recruitment event is aiming to get up to 500 North East people new jobs in just one day.

SHINE is taking place at St James’ Park on 16 October, giving an ‘Apprentice’ style opportunity for job seekers to impress some of the region’s biggest employers who have jobs on offer.

The event, organised by recruitment and training specialist CCP working with DWP Jobcentre Plus, will cut through the usual long job application process and give people the opportunity to showcase themselves directly with employers by taking part in activities at the event.

Candidates will be supported before the event for free by CCP who will help them prepare CVs and have the skills and confidence to really ‘shine’ on the day.

CCP Account Director Gillian Tarelli said, “Job hunting can take such a long time and sometimes brilliant candidates may not even get shortlisted if they don’t have experience. This is such an exciting event where people can walk away with more than one job offer on the day– an opportunity to get a brand new career with some of the region’s finest employers. It’s a unique way of getting a job – no form filling, experience or training necessary as candidates will get the chance to showcase their own talents right there and then in front of employers.”

There has been great interest from a range of employers who will all be offering jobs. Some of those looking for fresh talent to join them include Tesco Bank, SITEL, EE, More Than, Spark Response, BT/Manpower, London and Country Mortgages, Park Dean Holidays.
