Centre for Fashion Enterprise partners with Lambert’s Yard to launch Leeds New Fashion Pioneer Programme
Following the Centre for Fashion Enterprise (CFE) New Market Entry programme earlier this year in partnership with Lambert’s Yard and Leeds City Council, CFA has launched the Leeds New Fashion Pioneer Programme.
With a 10 year track record of growing fashion designer businesses and positioning them in the international marketplace, CFE will deliver their first ever New Fashion Pioneer Programme outside of London.
The 6 month programme provides designers with strategic business support. Expert workshops and one-to-one mentoring sessions will cover business planning; finance; accountancy; legal; range planning; costing and pricing; production; sales strategies; branding and digital marketing.
A diagnostic business review at the start of the Programme ensures support delivered is bespoke to each business.
The Programme is open to designer businesses based in and around Leeds. Applicants need to have been trading for at least 1-2 seasons, with annual sales between £10k and £50k.
Harold Tillman, former Chairman of the British Fashion Council and Lambert’s Yard Ambassador said, “As the International Fashion Weeks come to a close it’s fitting that we are able to announce the launch of this fantastic Programme which has nurtured the careers of some of the UK’s most successful fashion designers, including J.W Anderson, Simone Rocha, Holly Fulton and Christopher Shannon.
“It’s hugely important for me that we support fledgling fashion and textile businesses, especially in the North, to ensure that such talent prospers within the region; creating jobs and economic sustainability.”
Leeds City Council’s Executive Member with responsibility for culture and creative technology, Cllr. Lucinda Yeadon, says, “This is a really exciting time for British fashion and the Council is delighted to be teaming up with Centre for Fashion Enterprise to deliver an ambitious and innovative programme for talented designers in the city.
“The New Fashion Pioneer Programme has been a huge success in London and we’re proud to be involved with the first one outside the capital. Hopefully, we’ll see the next generation of successful designers being supported here in Leeds!”
Interested designers can download the application form from www.fashion-enterprise.com/programmes/cfe-leeds-pioneer-programme/ and return before Midday 10th October 2014. Interviews will take place on 16th October in Leeds.
