Enscite event to uncover opportunities for rail sector SMEs

SMEs supplying the UK’s rail sector will gain a rare insight into opportunities within the supply chain and what the major manufacturers look for from their suppliers at a free event run by Enscite and backed by national and regional bodies including BIS and UKTI.

Enscite, the organisation created to help manufacturing SMEs develop business opportunities in the transport engineering supply chain, is staging the event to bring OEMs and SMEs ‘closer together’, according to the organisation’s Head of Innovation & Technology, Sid Bains (pictured):

“Our aim is to provide SMEs with support and services that enable them to maximise their potential within the transport engineering sector supply chain by helping them understand what the major manufacturers look for in their suppliers,” he says.

“Our Rail Supply Chain Event gives a rare insight into how SMEs can work towards achieving this in the rail sector, with a range of speakers and panel of representatives from many of the UK’s leading operators and manufacturers in the rail industry.”

Colin Flack, CEO of the Rail Alliance will chair the panel debate and discussion involving senior representatives from Alstom Transport, Bombardier, DDRF, East Midlands Trains, Future Railway, Network Rail, Unipart Rail.

In a keynote speech, DDRF Chairman Colin Walton will share his views on winning business in the rail supply chain; DDRF is supporting the event, alongside DNLCC, D2N2 and The Rail Alliance.

Delegates can also network with speakers, panel members and industry colleagues.

The free event is open to SMEs in the transport engineering sector and is at The Silk Mill, Derby on the 5th November 2014 from 8.15am to 10.30am and includes breakfast.
