Global recognition grows for Anesco

National energy efficiency solutions company Anesco has cemented its position as one of the top 100 cleantechs in the world, after being named within a prestigious global league table for a second year running.

The Global Cleantech 100 highlights the most innovative companies that are best positioned to solve tomorrow’s clean technology challenges and to cause significant market impact. Anesco was selected from almost 6,000 companies from 60 countries that were put forward for this year’s list.

“The Global Cleantech 100 represents the most inspiring entrepreneurs across the cleantech space, who are at the forefront of innovation,” said Sheeraz Haji, Cleantech Group’s CEO.

“It is a true honour to gather with the global cleantech community every year to recognise and celebrate the achievements of each of the top 100 companies as they continue to solve tomorrow’s energy and resource challenges and redefine sustainable innovation.”

The complete list of 100 companies was officially revealed at the Global Cleantech 100 Summit & Gala in Washington, D.C.

“We’re thrilled that Anesco has been recognised once again on such a prestigious global stage,” commented Adrian Pike, CEO of Anesco. “To be identified by a panel of our peers as one of the companies most likely to make a significant impact in the next 5-10 years is a great achievement.”

He continued: “As a company we continue to focus on innovation and developing new markets and products that will benefit the UK, while trying to make a positive difference to the communities in which we operate.”

For Anesco the accolade is just the latest in a line of achievements. The firm was named the UK’s fastest growing private company in 2013 and turnover went on to exceed £100m in the last financial year. The specialist team has grown from a handful of employees to in excess of 110 permanent members of staff, with up to 350 contractors and 82 supply chain partners and logistics staff employed at any one time.

Through its work with businesses, local authorities and homeowners, Anesco has helped to take over 65,000 people out of fuel poverty. The renewable technologies it has deployed are now generating enough power for more than 70,000 homes, saving over 101,000 tonnes of carbon per year.
