Coach travel booking platform Busbud launches in Spain following successful UK expansion
Worldwide coach travel booking platform Busbud has today announced that it has launched its service in Spain following its successful expansion to the UK.
Busbud helps travellers search, compare and book city-to-city coach tickets in 89 countries and 10,463 cities, in 11 languages and 21 currencies via its website or free mobile application. Busbud now has departures in over 7,000 cities across Europe.
The company launched in the UK in July and is currently partnered with a number of major coach operators across Europe, including National Express and Eurolines.
The expansion closely follows Busbud raising USD9 million in funding in July from Revolution Ventures and OMERS Ventures.
LP Maurice, CEO and co-founder of Busbud, said: “We’re very excited to launch in Spain. As Busbud is already active in the UK, Spain marks the latest piece of the European jigsaw for us.
“We’ve had a great response from consumers, not just in Europe but across the world, and we’re confident that Spain will be a great success. Our goal is to make it easier for travellers to choose to travel by coach. With each new country Busbud covers, we get closer to achieving this.”
Over the past year, Busbud has leveraged the ground networks of nearly 1,500 bus companies in Europe, Latin America and North America.
Busbud has named Spain its ‘Country of the Month’. The launch will include a new country page on Busbud.com, along with The Ultimate Spain Bus Trip guide.
LP Maurice co-founded Busbud with two friends, Microsoft Bing veteran Mike Gradek, now CTO, and Chief Scientist Frederic Thouin.
