Northumberland insolvency group expands to Birmingham

KSA Group, the Northumberland turnaround and insolvency specialist, has expanded to Birmingham, opening a new office to provide assistance to distressed West Midlands businesses.

With offices in London, Edinburgh, Manchester, Gateshead and Berwick Upon Tweed and now Birmingham, KSA Group is continuing to expand across the UK.

The new office, led by George E Davis, is set in the heart of the city’s business district, at Two Snow Hill, and is reportedly a welcome and significant addition.

George himself has worked in and around the Birmingham area throughout most of his near 40-year career in industry and commerce.

For the last three years, since joining KSA, he has been helping troubled businesses across the region, with such work covering CVAs, administrations, and, where necessary, liquidations.

Managing Director of KSA Group, Keith Steven, said: “Birmingham and the West Midlands has not yet seen the full benefit of the strong economic recovery felt in other areas of the UK, most notably the South East, and even if the region does see increased economic activity, this may well put an additional burden on weaker companies, where cash flow has been under constant pressure for months, if not years.

“This would be typical of earlier periods of economic recovery, and, as a result, many such businesses may well need to restructure.

“Since 2000, KSA Group has been working in the Midlands in partnership with local accountants, Boden Piper, and between us we have driven change management, and led debt reduction programmes, at a wide range of clients, as well as KSA Group itself using more structural, and formal mechanisms such as Company Voluntary Arrangements (CVA) and other significant restructuring programmes to assist distressed businesses.

“We now feel the time is right to open a new, and larger office, in Birmingham, so that we can provide a focused and centralised operation, aimed at offering bespoke solutions to a range of complex corporate problems across the whole Midlands region.”

George Davis said: “I have known Keith and many of the KSA team since 2004, and have had the pleasure of working with them for the last three years.

“It’s a very hard-working and creative environment, and I am excited to have the opportunity to develop KSA’s business in my own city.

“Working with my colleague Russ Mallen, and other members of the KSA Birmingham team, we are now able to service clients right across the Midlands, clients who I hope will continue to benefit from our highly professional, pragmatic, and commercial approach.”

Keith Steven said: “The opening of our new Birmingham office marks the next stage in KSA Group’s growth and ‘plugs a gap’.

“We now have very experienced Regional Managers in every main business area delivering innovative turnaround solutions.”
