Mobile Monday Manchester To Hold Wearables Event

Manchester’s chapter of the global networking and knowledge-sharing organisation, Mobile Monday is set to host another exciting event on Monday, October 13th welcoming mobile enthusiasts and brands from across the North West and beyond.

The event titled ‘You Are What You Wear: Is There a Future in Wearable Tech?’ is to be hosted by Editor in Chief of the Next Web, Martin Bryant and will bring together a number of industry experts to share their insights and even demo some of the latest wearable gadgetry.

Sabine Douglas, MoMoMcr’s co-organiser, said: “We are delighted by the response to our next event and are very excited to hear from some very knowledgeable figures within the industry. With the recent buzz of the Apple Watch, wearable tech is extremely topical so it’s sure to be a great event with some very lively debate.

“In addition to speaker presentations and audience Q&A’s, we’ll have a show and tell area at the end for companies to showcase their latest technologies. We’re hoping this will get everyone really engaged and give people an opportunity to try things they haven’t before. We’ll have Google on board demonstrating Google Glass and Google Cardboard, along with Blue Fingers showcasing high tech clothing”.

The lineup of event speakers include Michelle Hua, founder of Made with Glove, mobile marketing expert Dan Sodegren and Piers Ridyard, CEO of Nifty Drives, the most over funded kick starter project in the UK, which can count Steve Wozniack as one of the company’s investors.

Sponsored by hosting company, UKFast the event looks set to be bigger than ever with all 200 tickets snapped up within the first seven days of release. A waiting list has been generated for those who would like to attend and organisers encourage all those interested to register.

The event will be held at UKFast’s new auditorium, Birley Fields, Manchester, M15 5QJ on 13th October from 6pm - 9pm.
