Coda’s Japanese design proposal a first for Sheffield

PLANS have been submitted to Sheffield City Council for the building of a revolutionary new Eastern style apartment complex close to the heart of the city.

Working with Crossbow Investments Ltd, award winning Sheffield architectural design practice Coda Studios has developed proposals for a hi-tech apartment scheme on Henry Street, near Shalesmoor and Kelham Island.

The Tokyo style cabin apartments will be the first of their kind in Sheffield and the development will commence on site in the new year, following approval.

“This is the follow up development to our hugely popular Dunfields student housing scheme, which proved an out and out success, selling out within weeks to local, national and international investors and renting for more than 20 per cent on average than forecast,” said Coda Managing Director David Cross.

“We aim to demonstrate yet again that this previously neglected area of Sheffield between Kelham Island and the city centre, is one that is ripe for development.

“With the land available for development and with excellent transport links, including Supertram, already in place, this is proving to be a genuine growth area for Sheffield and one that we are extremely proud to be taking forward, using innovative design solutions to create the perfect 21st century living environment.”
