Work begins on £100k East Sussex skatepark

Work has begun on a new skatepark in Peacehaven, East Sussex after it was awarded a grant of £100k

Zero Degree skatepark was planned and proposed by 15 young people who wrote a comprehensive design brief for the park.

Zero Degrees, which is expected to be completed in time for Christias, is the new Skate Park part of the Peacehaven Big Park Project.

The ‘User Group’ have been working since 2010 to make Zero Degrees part of the Big Park Project, Peacehaven East Sussex.

A statement on the Zero Degree website said: “We are pleased to be able to finally announce that the build will start [this week] and should take 12-14 weeks.

“Behind the scenes the team at the Big Park Projects have been working hard to make this happen as soon as possible and are pleased that it will finally be underway.

This week the fencing should go up and groundworks machines should arrive on site.

“We will post photos and updates as often as we can here (this should be daily) to keep you informed and show you progress.
