Aberfield Communications appointed to Superfast West Yorkshire
Leeds communications agency Aberfield has been appointed to formulate a marketing and PR strategy to support delivery of rapid-speed internet in West Yorkshire.
Superfast West Yorkshire has appointed Leeds-based communications and social media agency Aberfield to develop and deliver a marketing campaign to communicate the economic and social benefits of rapid-speed broadband to businesses and residents across West Yorkshire.
Aberfield will work closely with the local authorities in Leeds, Calderdale, Bradford, Wakefield and Kirklees, as well as BT and Broadband UK, to encourage residents and businesses to register their interest in, and increase take-up of, fibre-optic broadband across the region.
Superfast West Yorkshire aims to provide high-speed broadband to 97% of West Yorkshire by the end of 2015, as well as improving access to broadband in both urban and rural areas across West Yorkshire which have poor, limited or no broadband coverage.
Muz Mumtaz, demand stimulation & business support manager Superfast West Yorkshire said: “There are areas in West Yorkshire which are not currently included in the private sector’s fast speed broadband commercial roll-out plans.
“So it’s crucial that we inform residents and businesses in these areas that they will be able to enjoy fibre-optic broadband through the Superfast West Yorkshire project.
“PR and marketing is vital in communicating this to the people of West Yorkshire and Aberfield’s marketing expertise, strong regional business links and audience-focused approach will help us encourage more businesses and residents in West Yorkshire to register their interest with Superfast West Yorkshire.”
Tim Downs, director at Aberfield Communications, said: “High speed and enhanced quality broadband brings a wealth of e-commerce opportunities to both businesses and residents alike in West Yorkshire.
“With an audience-focused strategy we’ll be able to positively influence businesses and residents in West Yorkshire to register their interest in Superfast and take up rapid-speed broadband, via the appropriate communication channels.
“We’re thrilled to work with the Superfast network that will help bring the fast speed digital world to homes and businesses across West Yorkshire.”
