Institute of Export summit is chance for UK businesses to shape exporting agenda

Business leaders are being urged to join the debate on how to boost UK international trade at a summit organised by the Institute of Export (IOE) at Gresham College, London on October 21.

The one day summit, entitled “Exporting: If we keep doing what we’re doing….”, is a chance for businesses to hear a powerful line up of speakers as well as help influence and shape the exporting agenda.

Lesley Batchelor OBE, director general of the IOE, said: “With the UK deficit still widening, it’s quite clear we need to change the way we’re supporting exporters if we are to hit the government’s ambitious targets. I would urge businesses to come along, join in a dynamic debate and tell us what needs to change.”

The Institute’s chair Ian Taylor, together with Lesley will be joined by IOE Vice President Lord Empey, OBE, John Burbridge-King of Interchange Solutions Ltd, Bernadette Byrne of thebigword, lawyer Keith Arrowsmith, Nicholas Niggli from the Embassy of Switzerland in the UK and Peter Andrews from the Bank of England.

Lesley continues: “As thought leaders and influencers in exporting, the Institute is committed to supporting exporters and advising policy makers. Albert Einstein said: “if you keep doing what you’re doing, you’ll keep getting the results you’ve been getting”. Our seminar is an ideal opportunity for businesses to tell us what we should – and could –do differently.”

Tickets for the summit, which runs from 10.00 – 17.00 at Gresham College, Barnard Inn’s Hall, Holborn, cost £25.00 for IOE members and £30.00 for non-members including lunch. Book online or call +44 (0)1733 404400.
