Stagecoach remains on course with Hope as student transport contract renewed

Bus and coach operator Stagecoach Merseyside & South Lancashire has been re-awarded the contract to deliver Liverpool Hope University’s inter-campus route.

The company, which formerly held a two year deal to deliver services for the University, has seen the arrangement renewed for a further three years.

The renewal will see the operator continue to cover the H1 and H2 routes which are subsidised by the University and run from Hope Park and Woolton Road to the Creative Campus on Shaw Street.

Elisabeth Tasker, Managing Director of Stagecoach Merseyside & South Lancashire, said: “We’re very pleased to have been reappointed to this important route and look forward to continuing to work with Liverpool Hope University to deliver an effective and efficient service which allows students to travel between their respective campuses five days a week, free of charge.

“H1 and H2, in addition to our 86C route create a comprehensive travel network for the University’s students ensuring they are able to access a reliable, frequent bus service both on campus and across the city.”

Dr Penny Haughan, Dean of Students at Liverpool Hope University said: “Liverpool Hope is looking forward to working with Stagecoach to provide a reliable service which maximises opportunities for student learning by making movement between campuses as easy as possible.”

Stagecoach is one of the UK’s most sustainable bus operators and has reduced carbon emissions by 30 per cent in the last five years. All of the company’s vehicles are fitted with eco-driving systems which lower emissions.
