R&D plus tax demands add up to success for accountants

Leading North West full-service accountancy firm, Lloyd Piggott, has announced a substantial increase in demand for its tax and research and development (R&D) relief services.

The Manchester city centre accountancy firm has reported a 20 per cent increase in completed tax services - including tax returns, VAT and PAYE both for companies and individuals - and a 50 per cent increase in completed R&D tax relief assistance in the past year, for companies and individuals which qualify for R&D tax credits.

The increased demand demonstrates significant growth for the firm, which has been established for over 100 years.

Lloyd Piggott attributes the rise in R&D relief enquiries to renewed Government legalisation which has seen it set aside £1.5bn per year for companies deemed to be undertaking qualifying research and development activities.

The renewed legislation was launched in April 2014 for small or medium sized businesses, and Lloyd Piggott has shown its ability to cope with increasing demand and deliver a renewed offering in line with its clients’ requirements.
