Katathani Collection of resorts sets to raise Phuket and Khao Lak health and safety standards with

Katathani Collection of Resorts is setting new standards for health and safety in Phuket and Khao Lak with the introduction of comprehensive auditing by Cristal International Standards (CIS). The contract is part of a wave of new business that CIS has recently signed in the region with the Best Western Bangtao Beach and Sensimar in Khao Lak also enlisting the auditor’s services.

As the Group’s main properties, Katathani, The Shore and The Sands will establish a model for the rest of the properties to follow, using the results from Cristal International Standards’ E-Cristal auditing system. This includes modules that audit quality and help hotels implement best practice in the following areas: Fire Check, Aqua Check, Eco Check, Food Check, Safety Check, Pool Check and Room Check.

Katathani, The Shore and The Sands have also taken the Lab Check modules, which enable rapid identification and corrective action to be taken by the housekeeping team for a range of microbiological hygiene issues.

The Room Check module is the first of its kind globally to offer hoteliers an international standard against which they can examine all areas of the hotel room and evaluate the housekeeping performance. Room Check is audited with advanced forensic techniques that enable hygiene risks to be identified and quickly acted upon.

Comments Chanadda Atiset, CFO, Katathani Collection of Resorts: “As a young hotel group we have a target of reaching the very highest levels of international standards in health and safety. By working with Cristal International Standards, we have already benefited from instruction about many critical control points within a property, from housekeeping through the kitchen up to water management and emergency controls. We don’t just see this as an internal quality requirement but as a prerequisite to generate a sustainable business model and to attract repeat guests in the future. It’s simply best practice.”

Steve Tate, chairman of Cristal International Standards, comments, “Our hotel group clients clearly understand the benefits offered by hotel health and safety compliance to effective brand reputation and management, and Katathani is no exception. By offering independent third party audits on a variety of critical control points that maintain quality and standards throughout the group’s operations, we can offer guests increased confidence in the experience that they will enjoy anywhere across the brand. We look forward to providing Katathani Collection of Resorts with a level of brand equity that can be invaluable in a competitive global market.”
