Indian street food vendor Rola Wala to open permanent site at Trinity Leeds

Trinity Leeds’ street food concept, Trinity Kitchen, is welcoming pop-up Indian street food vendor Rola Wala becoming a permanent fixture.

The 452 sq ft unit joins a host of established, permanent outlets in Trinity Kitchen including Pho, Tortilla and Chicago Rib Shack, all of which were new to the Leeds market.

Meat Liquor opened a 5,498 sq ft unit last month (only its second outside London), while Brazilian Barbecue Restaurant, Cabana, will open a 4,769 sq ft unit next month.

Trinity Kitchen has welcomed 1.3 million visitors in its first year (an average of 25,000 each week) and hosted 55 different street food operators.

The 20,000 sq ft concept showcases a continually evolving offer of the UK’s best street food concepts, with 5 food vans changing regularly throughout the year, together with 7 permanent food tenants.

Emma Lawson, portfolio manager at Land Securities, commented, “It has been a tremendously successful first year for Trinity Kitchen and the food and beverage offer at Trinity Leeds as a whole since the centre opened in 2013.

“The opening of Rola Wala demonstrates one of our key objectives for Trinity Kitchen; to create a dining destination in which brands can thrive and subsequently grow.

“As we continue to bring exciting new brands to the Leeds market, we are thrilled that Rola Wala has benefited from the unique opportunities presented in Trinity Kitchen and look forward to its continued success as a permanent tenant.”

Mark Wright, founder of Rola Wala, added, “Trinity Kitchen has provided us with the perfect platform from which to launch and cement our brand within one of the most prosperous markets in the UK.

“Land Securities has created a unique dining environment that enjoys consistently high footfall from a large catchment of hungry shoppers, creating the ideal location for our brand.

“We have every confidence that our business will continue to prosper in Trinity Leeds.”

Camilla Topham, partner at Shelley Sandzer, which acted for Land Securities, said, “We are delighted with Rola Wala’s success and that Trinity Kitchen, after a hugely successful first year trading, has performed in its role as an incubator; nurturing the best of the independent street food operators and enabling them to grow to their first permanent site.”

Charles Palmer Property acted for Rola Wala.
