Trainers: How elearning can stop you from losing business

Imagine the scenario: you receive an email from a potential customer who loves the sound of your training session, but can’t attend.

Sound familiar?

As an experienced trainer, you’ll know there’s no shortage of reasons why someone might be willing but unable to pay for your expertise:

  • Your seminar clashes with their holiday, or they can’t get the time off work.
  • Your willing-but-unable customer doesn’t live in the same place as you.
  • The learner has an illness or disability that makes it difficult for them to attend your session.
  • You scheduled your webinar to take place at convenient times, such as evenings or weekends. Unfortunately, this isn’t convenient for people in different time zones.

eLearning can help you turn these lost opportunities into an alternate revenue stream.

Offering elearning alongside your in-person training is the quickest and easiest way to expand your customer base as it gives customers the option to access your training online, at a time and location that suits them.

Not only does elearning enable you to capitalise on sales you’d otherwise have lost, but it opens up the possibility of future sales, too. eLearning is a way for you to connect with an entirely new audience who may then go on to purchase more of your elearning products, or recommend you to their friends and colleagues. An effective and engaging elearning course is also a good tool for persuading people that your in-person training sessions are worth attending - no matter how inconvenient their timing or location.

The alternative is telling a potential client that you cannot accommodate them - you lose business, your competitors potentially gain a new customer and the learner is left frustrated that they couldn’t access their first choice of training.

eLearning can also support your existing training and act as a follow-up resource.

At the end of an in-person training session, learners always appreciate resources that they can take away with them to continue to develop what they have learned.

By creating an eLearning course, you can direct your learners to a source of information that can go into more depth, elaborate on specific areas you’ve covered or act as a good set of notes to refer back to.

So how do I create my own elearning?

While there are many benefits of adding elearning to your training repertoire, if you’ve never created elearning before, it can be difficult to know where to start.

That’s why we’re launching a new service to help subject matter experts create their own elearning courses, even if you have no previous experience of elearning.

Our award-winning team will work with you to develop your initial idea into an engaging and effective elearning course. Once you’re happy with the course, we’ll even help you sell it by hosting, distributing and promoting it via our Training Post marketplace.

If you’re interested in creating and selling your own elearning, why wait? Contact trainingpost.com today and we’ll be more than happy to talk you through the process.
