MLP Law on track for £2M turnover following transformational period

MLP Law expects turnover to pass the £2m mark this year following a transformational period that has seen the introduction of a new management team, extra investment and an additional office.

As it reaches the halfway point of its current financial year, the North West-based commercial and private client law firm has released full-year projections for 2014/15 to demonstrate the progress it is making. MLP Law predicts that turnover will top £2m for the period from 1 May 2014 to 30 April 2015. By way of comparison, its turnover was approximately £1.8m in 2013/14.

MLP Law offers a full range of specialist commercial legal services to business owners and entrepreneurs across the region, advising clients on matters such as litigation disputes, employment law and intellectual property. Its team of highly skilled solicitors also offer private client services, such as family law and probate advice.

Having rebalanced the company to focus predominately on providing a range of specialist commercial services to businesses, MLP Law has embarked on a major growth drive under the leadership of new managing director Stephen Attree.

MLP Law is also making a large investment in its workforce, recently doubling the number of fee earners working in its litigation, employment law and commercial teams. The latest appointments are Karen Bexley, head of employment law and senior solicitor Emma Lewis.

MLP Law’s growth plans have also included the opening of an office at MediaCityUK. Its creative and media industries legal team are based at this location to offer specialist business and legal advice and support to the sector.

Stephen Attree, managing director of MLP Law, said: “It’s been a tough time for the legal sector over the last couple of years and law firms have faced many changes and challenges. However, we’re proud that we’re still continuing to grow in response to the volumes of client work we’re receiving and haven’t been forced to reduce headcount or merge with another firm like many others have had to do.

“MLP Law now has a new focus and we’ve set a clear strategy to become the go-to people for helping businesses or aspirational people in the North West. We aim to achieve this by providing an excellent service based on pragmatic and clear communications with no jargon, solution-driven advice and commercial insight.”
