Global firm opens flagship sales centre in Sunderland

A global media sales support firm has selected Sunderland as the home for its new flagship international contact centre.

NRS Media, founded in New Zealand in 1992, has just opened its first global sales centre at Doxford International Business Park and its arrival has been welcomed by the Leader of Sunderland City Council, Cllr Paul Watson.

The firm delivers professional media sales packages for television, radio and print companies across the world, and has offices in the US, Canada, Australia and South Africa as well as a UK base in London.

Its brand new ‘Inside Sales Centre of Excellence’ at Doxford will deliver advertising telesales to small and medium-sized companies across the UK, Ireland, South Africa and Europe.

The venture has initially created ten new full-time permanent posts, expanding to around 25 over the next twelve months, with the potential to bring more opportunities in the future.

Global chief operating officer for NRS Media, John Antunes, said: “The North East has an exceptional talent pool of sales professionals, as well the infrastructure and facilities we were looking for, and Doxford International was always a strong contender when we were deciding where to base our Global Inside Sales Centre of Excellence.

“This is the first time NRS Media has established a global contact centre and we’re delighted to be operating our new venture from Sunderland.

“We’ve already recruited a small but exceptionally strong team who will be responsible for selling to customers in the UK, Ireland and South Africa to begin with, and we then plan to expand this into some European countries, from our new North East base.”
