UK General creates 40 Leeds jobs after healthy growth
40 Leeds jobs have been created by UK General Insurance in the city as the firm saw its income rise 11% to £24 million in 2013.
According to the Yorkshire Post, is the latest major insurer in the city to expand its workforce in the city, QBE European Operations added 100 jobs in its new claims handling centre.
UK General Insurance has recruited 25 to its Leeds office and is now seeking a further 15 employees.
The company now employes 270 people, mostly in its Leeds and Harrogate offices.
Its Rural Insurance brand, located in Harrogate, has supported the expansion and aims to be the second-largest rural insurer in the UK.
Peter Hubbard, chief executive at UK General, said: “To achieve that means hiring the best people on the market and we’re always impressed with the talent we find and employ from the Leeds and wider Yorkshire area.”
