National Design Conference programme revealed
Businesses from across the North East, are being invited to hear a stellar line-up of speakers from global brands, such as Microsoft, Unilever & British Airways, at the annual ‘Design Means Business’ Conference this November.
The national event, which will take place on Thursday 13th November at The Northern Design Centre in Gateshead, boasts an impressive programme of speakers, who will share their real business experiences on how design has impacted their bottom line.
The event is being run in partnership with Design Network North and Northumbria University, Newcastle and speaker contributions will also form part of the Ellen MacArthur Disruptive Innovation Festival, which takes place around the world from 20th October to the 14th November, with contributions from the US, Holland, Chile and Australia.
Event organiser and manager of Design Network North Terry McStea said “The conference offers an invaluable opportunity for individuals in the region to hear from these influential and inspiring speakers, who work for some of the biggest brands in the country and the world”. Confirmed so far are; Mark Delaney, Head of Design Strategy at Microsoft Phones, Richard Stevens, Creative Director at British Airways and Paul Howells, Vice President of Packaging at Unilever.
A wealth of other industry professionals will also make their journey to speak at the event to demonstrate the benefits of design to business, including Sue Wilson, Head of Design at Wood for Trees Design & Innovation and former Global Head of Design for MARS.
Terry continued: “We are very proud to be hosting such a broad span of talent here in the North East and are confident that attendees will be inspired to apply the experience to change their businesses for the better in 2015.”
