Interest in Rugby World Cup Promotions at Record Levels

With the 2015 Rugby World Cup final a year from now and 5 million applications for tickets just announced, there is also record interest in promotions and merchandise around the event.

Jeremy Goldsmith, managing director of Event Merchandising, an official merchandise contractor for Rugby World Cup 2015, says that sales and serious interest from sponsors, non-sponsors and the public are well ahead of expectations.

“Our experience as an official partner to London 2012, Rio 2016 and many other major sporting events gives us data to benchmark this. Proportionately, Rugby World Cup 2015 is exceeding most of these events at the same stage.

“It seems that many marketers are now recognising that there are benefits to planning promotions and hospitality more than a year ahead. Experience of London 2012 and World Cups has been valuable to them in learning the exciting rewards that massive interest in these events can bring.

“Various companies are working closely with us as they are well aware that they must comply with the trade mark regulations. We can help them to operate within the rules and to gain the necessary permissions as we know the guidelines well as an official licensee”.

“There is still time for those who start soon, to plan and deliver an effective campaign to show their support for the biggest sporting event in the world in 2015”
