NE IT experts on track for growth with new hotel contract

Catterick IT specialists, Razorblue, are on track for their predicted growth after recently completing a major deal with a popular hotel which is helping them to enter new markets as their business continues to grow.

The IT company has been working with Beverley Tickton Grange in East Yorkshire, a well-known country house hotel, to help it improve its business facilities and develop its meetings, conferences and events business.

Razorblue, based at Colburn Business Park, worked closely with the hotel’s management to install the most efficient super-fast wifi system. The project included the installation of 15 Ruckus Wireless access points and a super-fast fibre internet connection which ensures that the hotel now has 100% coverage in all of the rooms and across its facilities and grounds.

Razorblue, which also has offices in Newcastle, Leeds and York and plans to open on Teesside, specialises in IT consultancy, managed IT services, hosted solutions and connectivity for a wide range of SMEs, business parks and public sector organisations across the UK.

This latest contract win is a further boost for Razorblue who, over the summer, secured work in excess of £2 million with new clients including Furlong Flooring based in Dublin and FTSE100 listed company, Sports Direct. In the last year alone, Razorblue has seen contracts grow by around 40% and expects to increase in size by a further 50% in 2014.

As a result, Razorblue has recently recruited five new members of staff, now employing a team of 30, with plans to add another five before the end of the year.

In addition, the company has doubled its office space in Leeds, having moved out of the city centre to Airport West Business Park in Yeadon, close to Leeds Bradford Airport.

Chris Gill, Razorblue’s commercial director, said: “The services we provide are to help improve a business’s efficiency and, ultimately, allow them to become more profitable. The hospitality sector is a growing market for us as many more are now investing in technology to enable them to host large corporate events.”

Maggy Whymant, managing director of Tickton Grange, added: “We’ve needed to look hard at how we can improve and enhance the way in which we sell our conference and events facilities. Super-fast technology is vital for this as we aim to become a major venue for the Yorkshire area. Razorblue has provided us with exceptional service and has completely transformed our network which is already helping us to attract new corporate business.”

In the last year, Razorblue has invested over £100,000 in its state-of-the-art network to provide faster, highly-resilient connectivity for its wide range of clients, which include SMEs, public sector organisations and large enterprises. This means that Razorblue can provide the best connectivity available that is both robust and cost effective for a variety of businesses.
