Solar Slate enjoys successful launch in Ireland at the National Ploughing Championships
Solar Slate Ltd, a specialist in ‘solar energy roof tiles’ (also known as solar slates), is celebrating a successful Ireland-wide launch at the 84th National Ploughing Championships.
The Championships – Europe’s largest outdoor exhibition and agricultural trade show – were held in County Laois on 25th-27th September and attracted 1,400 exhibitors and 279,000 visitors. Visitors flocked to the Solar Slate stand throughout the day to receive expert advice from the team on how to generate free, clean energy in their homes with solar tiles and slates.
From 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., the three-man team from Solar Slate answered questions on solar PV installations, often dealing with multiple visitors at once. Many of the questions fielded by attendees were regarding problems with aesthetics, and the team was pleased to discuss alternatives to traditional solar PV with homeowners. Solar PV is not as popular in Eire and Northern Ireland, due to concerns regarding unsightly solar panels, and Solar Slate was well-placed to assuage these concerns during the Championships.
Following on from the hugely successful launch, Solar Slate is now running a full-page advert in Architecture Ireland. We are also looking forward to fulfilling our first order in Ireland on the week commencing 3rd November 2014.
