Push Technology Joins AWS Marketplace with Diffusion 5.1

With Easier Access for AWS Customers, Diffusion Enhancements Ease App Development Complexities while Ensuring a Seamless Customer Experience

London, UK and San Jose, Calif. – 03 November 2014 – Push Technology today announced that the latest version of its enterprise-grade data distribution platform, Diffusion 5.1, is now available on AWS Marketplace. Available as a preconfigured Amazon Machine Image (AMI), Push Technology is making Diffusion 5.1 even easier to access for Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) and Amazon Elastic Block Store (Amazon EBS) users worldwide.

Diffusion 5.1 offers an advanced software development platform that improves application data performance and reliability. With its intelligent data distribution and recovery capabilities, Diffusion removes the challenges of developing for scale, allowing customers to better cope with the explosion of data across networks and delivers a rich application experience in real time. Now, version 5.1 also includes WebSocket support for the iOS API, production support for the .NET and C Unified API, and proxy support and flow control for the Java™ Unified API, among other updates listed below, to further ease app development complexities.

“We are pleased that Push Technology is bringing Diffusion to AWS Marketplace,” said Barry Russell, Head of Business Development for AWS Marketplace, Amazon Web Services, Inc. “The ability to bring reliable app performance, both at scale and in real time is crucial to customers running data heavy workloads.”

Other new features in Diffusion 5.1 include:

Paged Topic Support – allows developers to create and update paged record topics and paged string topics while defining rule-based comparators to use for ordering the lines in the paged topic.

Topic Updates – improves ability to build more complex updates, support more topic types and handle unexpected closes. Topic Removal – grants developers the ability to mark topics for removal after a control client session closes by having the Diffusion server delete topics from the topic tree. Streams Replace Listeners – implements streams to receive content since they have logical end points and can be closed or discarded, at which time they can do any remaining actions.

“By joining AWS Marketplace, customers not only have easier access to us, but we have easier access to them,” said Sean Bowen, CEO, Push Technology. “With Amazon’s global presence, we can reach app developers in regions we may not have previously focused on, and AWS Marketplace will undoubtedly be a key component in our continued growth. Users can launch Diffusion and start experiencing improved app performance and data reliability right away.”
